| The Representative Payee Services (RPS) manages financial affairs of beneficiaries who are unable to handle their own finances due to disabilities. Mid-Cumberland HRA is the representative payee for clients in this program. The goal of the program is to help clients live productive and quality lives. This may include paying their rent and utilities and providing allowances for food, transportation, clothing, medications and related expenses. |

| Duties of a Representative Payee: |
Determine the beneficiary's current needs and use payments to meet those needs. |
Save any money left after meeting the beneficiary's current needs. |
Report any changes or events that could affect the beneficiary's eligibility for benefits. |
Keep written records of all payments received from SSA and how they are spent. |
Provide written reports accounting for the use of funds. |
Return any payments to SSA for which the beneficiary is not entitled. |
