provides or links eligible youth to the academic and financial help they need to receive a secondary school diploma or GED and prepares eligible youth for post-secondary educational and occupational opportunities. The ultimate outcome is for the participants to enter the workforce prepared on all levels—from academic and occupational skills achievement to the attainment of a healthy work ethic. The program operates in Davidson County for qualified youth no longer in high school. It serves qualified in-school and out-of-school youth in Rutherford and Trousdale Counties. |

| Qualified youth must be 14-21 years old, meet low-income guidelines, and be any of the following: |
| 1. deficient in basic literacy skills |
| 8. in need of additional assistance to complete an education program or to secure employment |
in Davidson, Rutherford, and Trousdale Counties (WIA 9) is funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Labor and Workforce Development through Nashville Career Advancement Center as an agent of the Middle Tennessee Workforce Investment Board. |
