Mid-Cumberland Human Resource Agency's In-Home Services provides essential services to elderly and disabled individuals within their own homes. Part-Time Positions are available in the following counties: Cheatham, Davidson, Dickson, Houston, Humphreys, Montgomery, Robertson, Rutherford, Stewart, Sumner, Trousdale, Williamson, and Wilson. $10 case rate with work available during the day, evening, or weekend.

Duties include: Light housekeeping, Meal Preparation, Errands, Socialization, and Personal Care including bathing, toileting, dressing, feeding. Candidates must be at least 21 years of age with a high school diploma or GED. Candidates must be able to follow instructions, communicate well, work independently, document work performed, have reliable transportation, proof of insurance, & a clean background check. CNA or previous experience working with elderly/disabled individuals or within the healthcare field is helpful but not required. EOE.


Rural Planning Coordinator

Full time with benefits; $48,000 -$53,000

Position is responsible for the coordination of rural transportation planning in accordance with the provisions of Fixing America’s Surface Transportation (FAST) act. Rural Planning Coordinator may be assigned to work in any area of transportation planning and may participate in the varied development, monitoring, and coordination of transportation planning projects for counties and cities making the Middle Tennessee Rural Planning Organization. Assists in the development and review of guidelines for coordination of land use and transportation decisions between Tennessee Department of Transportation and Middle Tennessee Rural Planning Organization communities.

Professional and administrative work involves coordinating rural transportation initiatives and serving as a liaison with local government officials and the Tennessee Department of Transportation-Long Range Planning for the Middle Tennessee Rural Planning Organization. Successful candidate will assist in the development of Rural Regional Transportation plans, Corridor Management Agreements, and various transportation plans. Provides technical assistance to local community partners and Consultation Organizations. Participates in regular collaborative opportunities with metropolitan transportation planning organizations, rural transportation consultation organizations, cities, and counties.

Reviews new and established federal, state, and local plans and policies and makes recommendations for implementation. Maintains a comprehensive, current knowledge of applicable policies, procedures, programs, codes, regulations and standards; conducts research and maintains an awareness of new issues, methods, equipment, trends and advances in the profession; reads professional literature to stay up to date with best practices; maintains professional affiliations; participates in continuing education activities; attends meetings, conferences, workshops and training sessions as appropriate.

Attends meetings, serves on committees, and makes presentations as needed; participates on review committees, policy committees, or other committees; represents the Middle Tennessee Rural Planning Organization at public meetings and statewide events; coordinate and organize Executive Board and Technical Committee meetings for the Middle Tennessee Rural Planning Organization.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from an accredited four year university with an B.A. or B.S. Degree in Urban or Regional Planning, Business Administration, Public Administration, Geography, Transportation or related field; considerable experience in transportation planning and program management; Geographic Information Systems (GIS); strong analytical, decision making and organizational skills; significant communication and interpersonal skills; or any equivalent combinations of education or experience.

Regional Youth CAN Manager

This is a responsible supervisor position involving field operations for the Youth CAN Program established through Career Services of Title I Youth under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) and additional youth programs managed through Mid Cumberland Workforce Services. Activities associated with the job include case management, working directly with clients participating in the Youth CAN program in accordance with the policies and procedures to insure compliance with program regulations and policies as established under WIOA and Mid-Cumberland Human Resource Agency. Responsibilities include investigating local educational and training programs towards the goals of career development and employment; interacting with personnel from funding agencies; and, if requested by the Programs Manager, attending contractor’s meetings, and conferences. Regional Youth CAN Manager will be responsible for oversight of youth programs under Mid Cumberland Workforce Services to include Rutherford Works, Title I WIOA Youth CAN services, and Opportunity Now. Incumbents manage a lesser caseload consisting of eligible youth ages 16-24 who are attempting to obtain training, further their education, and find employment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college/university in Human Services or related field

• Excellence in oral, written, and computer-based communication skills

• Ability to utilize technology to enhance the range and quality of workforce development services to job seekers and businesses of the Local Workforce Development Areas

• Extensive knowledge of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act legislation and Mid Cumberland Workforce Services youth programs

• Excellence in computer software applications including word processing, data base management, spreadsheet management and extensive knowledge of the state VOS system

• Prior experience in working directly with diverse and priority service populations

• Experience in writing grants, RFPs and other applicable research experience

This full time position involves determining eligibility of potential WIOA clients, completing paperwork on clients with extreme attention to detail and providing follow-up case management. This individual is responsible for providing intensive case management to eligible WIOA clients in their designated area. This performance based position hinges upon maintaining an adequate case load and the Career Specialists ability to assist clients in meeting their career and educational goals. A key component of this position involves the ability to utilize technology to accurately maintain client records and financial expenditures. Other duties of this position include assisting in the Welcome Function of the local American Job Center, engaging in community outreach activities, continuing education on WIOA legislation and other additional requirements as requested by the Regional One-Stop Coordinator. Some travel is required.

QUALIFICATIONS: • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in Social Sciences or similar discipline preferred. Equivalent experience in the field of human services and/or direct experience in working with the WIOA program will be considered in lieu of degree

• Advanced computer competency/literacy skills are required.

• Applicants must have the ability to quickly learn computer software applications and follow directions in completing Career Specialist requirements

• Ability to maintain professionalism and adapt in a rapidly changing atmosphere
